When designed and fitted correctly, dentures work just like natural teeth, allowing you to smile, speak, and chew confidently. However, dentures are not the only choice for replacing missing teeth. We will assist you in comparing different treatments and provide all the necessary information to help you make the best decision for your individual needs.

Partial Dentures
Partial Denture Types & Materials
Partial dentures can be made from a combination of metal and acrylic or solely from acrylic. The design of the partial denture is based on the patient’s specific needs and anatomy, with the goal of creating a self-cleansing denture that preserves the remaining teeth and oral tissues.
Our team will ensure that your partial denture is designed to evenly distribute chewing forces across the remaining teeth and soft tissues. In some cases, adjustments may be recommended for your remaining teeth to achieve this balance.
Metal partials are generally preferred due to their superior structural qualities. They are thinner and more hygienic compared to acrylic partials, which are typically used as temporary solutions. We will work closely with you to determine the most suitable partial denture for your situation.
Full Dentures
A denture, also known as a complete denture, is a dental appliance that is placed in the mouth to replace natural teeth and provide support for the cheeks and lips.
Typically made of acrylic, dentures can be created using two different methods.
- A conventional denture is created after the extraction of all teeth and the healing of gum tissues.
- An immediate denture is made and placed right after tooth extraction, allowing the gums to heal underneath.
- An upper denture typically has acrylic material that covers the palate, resembling flesh color.
- A lower denture is designed in a horseshoe shape to accommodate the tongue.
The teeth can be made of plastic, porcelain, or a combination of both. Dentures can be custom-made to fit over teeth that have undergone root canal treatment, and dental implants can be used to securely attach a complete denture.
Over time, dentures will wear down and may need to be replaced or adjusted to maintain proper jaw alignment. The alignment of the jaw will gradually change as the bone and gum ridges recede or shrink after tooth extraction. It is still important for denture wearers to have regular dental check-ups to monitor the health of their oral tissues and detect any signs of disease or changes.
What Makes Us The Best Choice?
Creating a restoration that looks natural and lasts a long time requires special skills and attention to detail. Your dentist needs to understand your specific needs and recommend the best type of denture for you. They will begin by taking a 3D impression of your mouth, which accurately represents your gums. Using high-quality materials and collaborating with a reputable lab, they will create a custom-made prosthesis. Throughout the process, your dentist will work closely with you, addressing any concerns and ensuring a perfect and comfortable fit.
At Brosh Dentistry, we have mastered this process. Our team of Cave Creek dentists is highly skilled and experienced, providing gentle care and expertise for successful treatment. We are committed to not only restoring your smile but also boosting your confidence. Trusted throughout Liberty, we would be honored to earn your trust as well.
